Emerald Grain has released a smartphone app to make grain growers’ lives easier this harvest.
The app is available on iOS and Android platforms and provides growers instant access to live prices, segregations and opening hours at local Emerald Grain storage sites.
Emerald Grain General Manager Storage and Handling Ron McCalman said the app was designed to be easy to use.
“You simply download the app from your app store, select your local storage site, and all the information you need is at your fingertips.
“Up-to-the-minute pricing is available from all grain buyers posting prices at our sites.
“Each site also updates opening hours and segregations in response to local weather and harvest conditions,” Mr McCalman said.
He said the app lets growers simply press a button to call their local site or local grain marketing offices to find out any further information they require.
“The Emerald Grain app has been downloaded nearly 500 times in the past two weeks and we expect this number to increase has harvest moves further south,” Mr McCalman said.
“Most growers these days are using smartphones to access critical information for their farm business – everything from the weather, grain market movements and local news.
“Our app is designed to make finding information about site pricing, segregations and opening hours as easy as possible so growers can concentrate on harvest.”
To download the free app, growers just need to go to their local app store and search ‘Emerald Grain’.
Growers having any trouble downloading the app can call the Emerald Grain service centre on 1800 255 426 for assistance.
